With the arrival of spring, we welcome the return of numerous plants and animals. We will spend these after school hours looking for frogs, salamanders, and turtles as well as wild edibles and the pollinating insects that make them possible. Our after school programs focus heavily on wilderness skills (shelter building, fire building, tracking, etc.) as well as local ecology. We guarantee your child will return home dirty, tired, and happy!
Our Camp Denison location offers 36 acres of protected wilderness along the shores of Baldpate Pond. Our Danvers location will utilize the 12 acres surrounding the North Shore UU church as well as the Danvers/Wenham Rail Trail, Choate Farm Reservation, and the trails around the Putnamville Reservoir.
Please note: the dates of this program are subject to change based on the recommendations of the local Boards of Health. Should health metrics in specific towns change, we reserve the right to cut the program short. In this case, you will receive a refund for any canceled classes.
All program participants will be required to wear face masks at all times unless participating in a strenuous activity, such as a running game.
The elementary schools in Topsfield and Boxford are no longer open to after school programs due to COVID-19. Therefore, NSNP will be unable to run its traditional Horizons programs through the Tri-Town Council. We hope to resume the partnership as soon as possible!
